In-House Diagnostic Testing

To enhance our primary care services, we offer a wide range of diagnostic and monitoring services to ensure thorough evaluation and personalized treatment plans. These in-house services include:

Laboratory Services

Our clinic has a state-of-the-art in house lab which allows testing and results all in one place at the time of your visit!  To learn more about our lab, click here.

Electrocardiogram (EKG)

An EKG is a diagnostic test that records the electrical activity of your heart. It helps detect irregular heart rhythms (arrhythmias), assess heart function, and evaluate symptoms.

Spirometry Testing

Spirometry is a diagnostic tool used to evaluate lung function. It measures how well you can breathe and helps diagnose conditions such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and other respiratory disorders.

At-Home Sleep Study

Our at-home sleep study allows for convenient evaluation of sleep disorders such as sleep apnea in the comfort of your own bed. This portable monitoring device records key parameters during sleep to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning.

Bone Density Scan

A bone density scan is a painless and non-invasive procedure used to measure bone mineral density and assess bone health. This test helps in the early detection of osteoporosis and guides preventive measures and treatment options to maintain strong and healthy bones.

VAT Testing

Vestibular testing is a specialized assessment designed to evaluate the function of the vestibular system, which contributes to balance and spatial orientation.

Holter Monitor

A Holter monitor is a portable device that continuously records your heart’s electrical activity over a period of time (usually 24 hours). It is used to detect and monitor irregular heart rhythms that may not be captured during a standard EKG.

Referrals and Additional Diagnostic Testing

Sometimes your healthcare needs will require specialized physicians or more advanced diagnostic testing. We work closely with a network of specialists and local healthcare facilities to ensure you’re well cared for, even if that care requires resources outside our clinic.

Referrals: as your Primary Care Provider, Dr. Berends can refer you to trusted physicians specializing in your specific health concern.  These physicians include Cardiologists, Neurologists, Endocrinologists, Rheumatologists, Orthopedists, Urologists, ENT’s, Hematologists, Dermatologists, Pulmonologists, Nephrologists, Gastroenterologists, Surgeons, and other specialty providers.

Diagnostic Testing/Imaging orders: Advanced tests or imaging are sometimes necessary to address your unique health concerns or complete your preventative care and screenings. Dr. Berends orders such tests at local facilities (or a facility of your choice).  This can include preventative screenings such as mammograms and calcium scores, or diagnostic testing such as MRIs, X-rays, Ultrasounds, or Echocardiograms.
